What is the Makeup Institute?

The Makeup Institute is a Makeup Artistry School for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Professional Makeup Artist Courses range from an introductory level through very advanced for Print, Film and TV, Airbrush and Special Effects.

What are the classes like?

Each class consists of in-depth lectures, demonstrations and hands-on makeup applications. Other vital self marketing strategies are taught to ensure success in your chosen field of makeup.

Who teaches the Classes?

The Makeup Institute contracts successful working Makeup Artists who specialize in a certain field. These are experienced veteran artists that excel at their trade in the industry.

Do I get a diploma or a certificate?

The Makeup Institute offers Certificate Classes. Upon successful completion, all graduates receive a Certificate.

What kind of jobs are available?

There are various opportunities for a career in Makeup. Our School is designed to fulfill a need for dedicated, qualified professional artists. Many million dollar industries utilize Makeup Artist. You can work with Photographers, Models, Designers and Magazines. Opportunities can also be found in the Film/TV industry, Stage, Music Videos and more. There are plenty of people who need makeup services.

What kind of money can I earn in Makeup?

Depending on which industry you select there are industry averages. The lowest income averages between $12 -$20 per hour. Most Television & Video work is based on "day rates", which averages between $250 -$500 per day. Film work averages between $400 - $850 per day. The Print & Fashion industry is known to pay best, clients have different budgets but a top artist can make as much as $3,500 a day or more.

Do I have to take every class?

No, we will enroll you in only the classes necessary for you to achieve your goals. If you are interested in starting your own Bridal Makeup business there is no need to take Special Effects (learning cuts, burns, bruises, etc).

How long are the classes?

Most classes are only one, two or three days in length. The Jump Start Week is the most complete curriculum consisting of a 7 day program with 5 of our most popular classes for Beauty Makeup.

What are my options for payment?

The Makeup Institute accepts cash, cashiers checks, money orders, Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. Click HERE to visit our page with loan information. Loans are available for those who qualify with good credit or have a co-signer with good credit.

How soon can I start?

Because we try to keep our class sizes small, we encourage students to enroll in advance to ensure their seat. We can not hold a seat without a deposit fee and payment arrangements. Some classes fill up faster than others, so we do suggest you register early.
